How accessible is Meetaway?

A major reason for originally building Meetaway was to make meeting new people and building professional relationships simpler, more efficient, and more accessible. The mom with three young kids may not be able to make her professional association's happy hour networking downtown at 5pm but she can make the 12pm networking on Meetaway during her lunch.

We also know that a tool is only as accessible as it is easy to use, so Meetaway has done everything in its power to make the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) as intuitive as possible. Meetaway is at its best when it gets out of the way and your attendees can seamlessly go from one conversation to the next.

With both of those items in mind, accessibility is something that has always been core to Meetaway's ethos. Meetaway is aware of Web Accessibility Content Guidelines 2.0 and does particularly well in several key areas:

Understability - the simplicity and linear nature of our attendee experience means we do particularly well on understandability, predictability, and navigability. We have had non-English speaking groups successfully use our product without any translations. Less tech-savvy folks also generally do not have issues with Meetaway.

Distinguishability - Meetaway's design is simple and intuitive so it is very easy for attendees to separate the foreground from background.

Auditory Impairment - the kick-off video recorded by organizer can pull from Youtube where an organizer can add easily captions. We also provide a text chat option that can serve as an alternative to video chat during conversations.
